Down Bad but Entertained
Things I have watched while staying inside. You might enjoy some of these!
I’m grateful I went to a lot of holiday parties last week because I didn’t do much this week except work and nurse a bad cold (tested negative for COVID-always test! because it’s good to know what you’re dealing with). I stayed inside and watched stuff. I didn’t even read much—still finishing What A Time to Be Alive by Jade Chang, mentioned in last week’s post. My suggestions this week are for things to watch when you’re under the weather:
Rob Reiner and his wife, Michelle Singer Reiner were killed and between that horrific end, the Brown shooting and the Bondi Hannukah shooting, I was bereft and in need of some softness. I turned to one of my all time favorite Reiner films, The Princess Bride. It’s a wonderful movie. Watching it doesn’t make horrible news in the world any better but it is a very good escape. 10/10 recommend this film.
I also re-watched another one of my favorite films directed by Reiner, When Harry Met Sally. Still a banger! One of the funny things that stood out to me this time around is that it is a movie of its time. It’s so refreshing to see people without cell phones. I need to watch more movies from the 1980s! 10/10 recommend rewatching all of your favorite Rob Reiner films right now—or watch one you’ve never seen.
I’ve been watching the new season of Emily in Paris—it’s my cotton candy. Dare I say, this may be the best season. I know the show has its critics (I am one of them) but it’s fun to see Paris and the characters grow on you and it’s light and sometimes I can only deal with light entertainment—perfect when you have a cold and feel not too good. Half of the newest season takes place in Rome and is called Emily in Rome. It’s beautifully filmed there are tons of gorgeous rooftop views from fancy hotels throughout the Eternal City. Emily has a chic haircut and for the first time I’m really into her wardrobe. She’s more sophisticated and finally a little more relaxed and less annoying and after four seasons she’s learning French. A very good binge watch.
Not a tv show or film, but I really loved watching Hudson Williams GRWM routine for The Cut on Instagram. I could watch him wash his face for hours. I’m late to the party but finally tuned into Heated Rivalry because of the mesmerizing face washing reel.
That’s all folks. Stay healthy if you can. Mask up! Every other person is sick right now. Happy holidays!

To be fair that Cut video is 20-something minutes long so it's basically a whole episode of a show!!!
Hope you feel better soon ❤️. Merry Christmas 🎄.
